The MLSYJ-XX vibrating wire piezometer (as shown in Figure 1-1 below) is also known as a pore water pressure gauge. It is a pressure sensor that can not only monitor the groundwater level but also measure the temperature at the installation point simultaneously. It features stable performance, high sensitivity, small size, etc. The whole body is made of stainless steel shell, which is sturdy and beautiful. It is mainly used for automatic monitoring. With the addition of matching accessories, it can be used in pressure measuring pipes, foundation drilling and other occasions.

I. Overview of Vibrating Wire Piezometer

The MLSYJ-XX vibrating wire piezometer, also known as the pore water pressure gauge, is a pressure sensor that can not only monitor the groundwater level but also measure the temperature at the installation point simultaneously. It features stable performance, high sensitivity, small size, etc. The whole body is made of stainless steel shell, which is sturdy and beautiful. It is mainly used for automatic monitoring. With the addition of matching accessories, it can be used in pressure measuring pipes, foundation drilling and other occasions.

 

II. Principle of Vibrating Wire Piezometer

The vibrating wire piezometer is mainly composed of stainless steel protective tubes, coil frames, pressure-bearing membranes, high-strength steel wires, etc. In the vibrating wire piezometer, there is a highly sensitive pressure-bearing diaphragm. A high-strength steel wire is fixed on the diaphragm, and the other end of the steel wire is fixed on the coil frame. When in use, the change in pressure on the diaphragm causes the diaphragm to deform. This slight deformation can change the tension of the steel string, thereby affecting the vibration frequency of the steel string. By measuring the change in oscillation frequency, the change in pressure on the diaphragm can be converted. The square of the vibration frequency is proportional to the pressure on the diaphragm. The vibrating wire piezometer is driven by an excitation circuit to the sensor coil. When the frequency of the excitation signal is close to the natural frequency of the steel string, the steel string quickly reaches a resonant state. After the excitation signal is removed, the steel string still vibrates at its natural frequency for a period of time. The induction signal generated by vibration is filtered, amplified and shaped by the monitoring circuit of the acquisition instrument and then collected. By measuring the pulse period of the induction signal, the vibration frequency of the string can be measured.

VI. Precautions
