How do Magnetostrictive Displacement Sensors Adapt to the Extreme Working Conditions of New Energy Vehicles
Release Time: 2026/3/14 16:04:41

The ability of magnetostrictive displacement sensors to adapt to extreme working conditions in new energy vehicles is mainly reflected in the following aspects

1. Electric drive system: Magnetostrictive displacement sensors have the advantages of non-contact, high-temperature resistance and long service life. They can be used for linear/rotational position feedback of electric actuators, execution control of motor shift mechanisms or clutches, as well as precise stroke detection of electronic braking systems (EHB/EMB)

3. New energy vehicle chassis system In the steer-by-wire (brake-by-wire, Suspension-by-wire) chassis of electric vehicles, magnetostrictive displacement sensors can be used for real-time feedback and control of the active suspension, steering system and braking system, improving response speed and braking redundancy.

4. Industrial-grade durability: The MTS-Temposonic SR-SeriesV analog magnetostrictive displacement sensor features a wide temperature range adaptability from -40°C to +85°C and an IP68/IP69K protection rating. It can maintain stable performance in extreme temperatures and polluted environments, and its service life is extended by more than 5 years compared to traditional sensors.2. Battery Management System (BMS) and Safety: In liquid-cooled battery packs or battery quick-swap systems, magnetostrictive sensors can detect coolant valves and actuator cylinder strokes to ensure the efficient operation of the cooling system. The quick-change connection position of the battery module enables precise alignment during automated battery swapping. And battery expansion/structural deformation monitoring, determining the bulging condition of the battery cell through displacement feedback.

In summary, magnetostrictive displacement sensors, with their advantages of high precision, anti-interference, long service life and suitability for harsh environments, play a significant role in multiple key systems of new energy vehicles, ensuring the safety, comfort and reliability of the vehicles. With the development of new energy vehicle technology, the application prospects of magnetostrictive displacement sensors will be even broader.
